Food Mood Matcher: Find the perfect meal for your current mood!

Food based on mood

Are you craving something but don't quite know what to eat? My super addictive tool below can help you choose a tasty snack based on your current mood. So whether you're angry, happy, anxious, or some unholy combination of all three, my food mood matcher is here to help. To get started simply choose your mood from the options on the list below. Then, click the 'Chow Time!' button and the perfect meal for your mood will display instantly.

How the mood matcher works

I built the mood matcher using a combination of reputable dietary sources and my own experiences with various foods and their impact on my mood. Each mood listed in the dropdown menu corresponds to a set of tasty foods that are perfect for individuals experiencing the selected mood. Each food receives a score based on how appropriate they are for the mood in question. My algorithm will then display the food items with the highest score for your mood.

Eating the right foods can boost your mood

Now, there is a fine line between occassional relief and dependency so tread lightly whenever attempting to remedy your mood issues with food. Obesity is only ever a few poorly chosen meals away. However, when used in moderation the right food or drink can help elevate your mood with very little downsides.

For me, whenever I'm stuck on a very boring project or doing something I despise like Teams calls with the camera on, an ice cold Lo-Carb Monster Energy drink boosts my mood and makes people much more tolerable...briefly.

Another awesome, healthy way to get that ever elusive dopamine rush is engage in moderately instense exercise. My go-to for this whenever I am working my chest or shoulders is the classic bench press. If you want to incorporate one of these stress reducing, muscle building exercises into your route head over to my random exercise generator.
