How to Make Cake in a Mug

Making a cake in a mug may seem weird initially, but when you really think about it, mugs aren't that different from baking pans. They are both made of sturdy material that can withstand the high temperatures needed to bake.

My absolute favorite cake to make in a mug is the Oreo mug cake. Here are the ingredients I use in my Oreo mug cake recipe.

Oreo Pumpkin Mug Cake

  1. 5 Pumpkin Spice Oreos
  2. 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Vanilla Almond Milk
  3. 1 teaspoon of Cream Cheese Frosting
  4. 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
  5. 1 / 2 teaspoon of pumpkin puree

To get started, follow these super easy steps below.

  1. Crush your oreos

A food processor would be ideal, but if you don't have access to one, do it prison style. Grab a zip lock bag, place the cookies in them and beat them until thy're unrecognizable.

  2. Add your milk

Now, place your milk in and give it a good stir until it starts to look like a milkshake.

  3. Add in the baking powder

You'll need this to bring the concoctions all together. Don't skip this step!

  4. Throw in the pumpkin puree and icing

These are optional but will add flavor and moistness to your cake.

With all the ingredients mixed, throw in your microwave for 1 minute. Now, microwave times vary quite a bit depending on the wattage of your device.

If you are unsure, try baking it at 30-second intervals and measuring the results until you get the consistency you want.

If you're not a fan of pumpkin, here are some tasty recipes for Oreo mug cake.
